Aidiladha or Hari Raya Korban is celebrated on the 10th day of the Muslim calendar month, Zulhijjah to commemorates Prophet Abraham’s sacrifice of his son Ishmael. It also marks the end of the haj pilgrimage period. Muslims worldwide perform sacrifices of their livestock and distribute the shares among themselves with the community especially the poor. The word ‘Korban’ actually means near and the act of sacrifice signifies bringing oneself closer to The Almighty. This sacred day is also about sharing your abundance with your loved ones, friends and associates.
